Midoricon Dealer’s Room Policy

Adult Materials Policy

As a family event, we ask that exhibitors, particularly those with adult merchandise, please keep this in mind when setting up. Vendors selling materials that are sexually explicit, extremely graphically violent, or otherwise unsuitable for children MUST take all necessary precautions to keep the nature of said materials discrete. Failure to comply will result in a single warning. If you sell inappropriate materials to minors, you will be evicted.

Weapons Sales Policy

All attendees must comply with our weapons policy. Dealers are required to package weapons securely upon purchase, and advise the purchaser to deposit their sealed weapon in their hotel room or other secure location off the convention premises as soon as possible. Any violation of this rule will be followed by a single warning.

Any dealer selling weapons is required to enforce our policy by posting a notice with the following information somewhere visible on their booth:

At the time of purchase, all weapons will be packaged in a sealed box. If the weapon you have purchased is in violation of our weapon policy, the weapon must unopened and deposited in your hotel room or vehicle immediately, and kept there for the duration of the convention. Bootleg/Piracy Policy

Midoricon does not allow the sale of bootleg merchandise within the premises. Sales within this category include fansubs, pirated series, and knock-off merchandise of any kind. Sales of this nature could have legal ramifications for our convention, and will not be tolerated under ANY circumstances.

Behavioral Policy

At Midoricon, we take the safety and comfort of our attendees, vendors and staff very seriously. We absolutely do not tolerate harassment (of a sexual nature or otherwise), offensive language or behavior, yelling or threats of any kind. If you are in violation of our behavioral policy, our staff reserves the right to dismiss you from the Dealer's Room, or even the convention, without refund.

Overall Policy

Items that MAY NOT be sold in the Dealer's Room include:

  • "Knockoff" or bootleg merchandise, videos (such as "homemade" DVD/video, series acquired by online theft or pirating of commercially unreleased titles in the United States, Japan, or elsewhere). Anyone found in violation will be issued a warning, at which time you will be asked to take necessary action to abide by our terms outlined here. Our staff reserves the right to request the removal of any offending material. Failure to comply, or a subsequent violation, is cause for suspension from our Dealer’s Room without refund.

Vendor Licensing & Sales Tax Adherence

It is the vendor’s responsibility to collect, report and pay sales tax and/or fees according to federal, state, county and city regulations. For new vendors in the state of Ohio, please consult the Ohio Department of Taxation website for applicable information regarding obtaining a Transient Vendor license:
